A New Era for .tr Domains: TRABİS
Domains with the .tr extension are allocated through TRABİS (the .tr Network Information System), managed by Turkey's Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK). Applications are not made directly to TRABİS but through accredited registrars (domain providers).
In the TRABİS era, extensions such as .com.tr, .net.tr and .org.tr became document-free and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. In other words, whoever applies first gets an available .com.tr address, without submitting documents.
